Croeso ~ Welcome

STOP PRESS: CSEG awarded nearly £15,000 by Local Energy Assessment Fund. See News and Forums for further details.

Who We Are

CSEG was formed in 2007 by a group of Cwmdu residents who were looking to share their experiences of energy saving and to help promote sustainable activities in the community.

The Group has 18 members who correspond regularly and meet monthly. We have adopted a constitution and have close links with other community groups in the local area. The Group is also a member of The Green Valleys, a company which promotes and supports sustainability across the whole Brecon Beacons National Park area.

What We Do

Since its formation the Group has been active with:

• Woodland management
• Small hydro schemes
• Acquiring electric bikes for community use
• Reducing energy use in the village hall
• Home insulation
• Micro generation
• Use of thermal imaging to identify heat loss in homes.
• Regular litter picking in the village
• Restoration of stone walls
• Selling local produce
• Reducing street lighting in the early hours of the morning
• Support of local events
